"A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there." -Unknown
I’m originally from a small town in the smallest state in the country. I stayed in state to go to college and for the majority of that time I lived at home with my parents and pup and worked at a local coffee shop where everyone knew everyone by name.
After I graduated college, I spent a year at my first corporate retail job working with a big name, rapidly growing jewelry company based in RI. At some point, the fact that I had spent 23 years of my life in the same small town, in the same small state, wasn't sitting well with me anymore. I decided I needed a change and I set my heart on moving.
I still look back on my decision to move and can’t believe I actually did it. I found an old friend looking for a short-term roommate and moved to Boston.
Just. Like. That
Picking up and leaving was completely out of character for me. I'd be lying if I said I haven't had my fair share of meltdowns, but this move has been best decision I've ever made and ultimately the decision that led me to finally starting this blog. From the first week in this city I felt excited, inspired, and instantly proud to be a part of it.
This blog is where that inspiration led me.
‘For Sabs Sake’ has been an idea of mine for far too long. I was afraid to commit to keeping up with it and afraid of what people might say. It finally hit me that if at 24, I didn't take this idea and run with it than I might never do it. I've dubbed 2015 "my year" and living in this city has finally given me the confidence I needed to commit. I'm excited and proud to claim this little corner of the internet as my own!
I want this to be a place for family, friends, and anyone who happens to stumble across it, to come and feel connected with what’s going on in my life. A place to find inspiration, like so many of my favorite blogs are for me.
I hope you'll stop by from time to time to catch up and see whats new on 'For Sabs Sake' !
